Custer Care began with a simple mission: to provide safe, compassionate care for aging adults in a way that feels like home. What started in 1991 as a small, freestanding adult day center in Broken Bow has grown into a trusted, multi-service care facility — proudly serving families throughout Central Nebraska for over three decades.
Our Journey
In 1999, we expanded to include Assisted Living services, opening our first home with five resident rooms and continuing our Adult Day Program at the same location. As our community’s needs grew, so did we.
In 2007, we moved into our current home at 1020 South 2nd Avenue, allowing us to add more space, more comfort, and more care options. Today, we offer:
- 11 private Assisted Living rooms
- Respite care for up to 14 days
- Adult Day Services in a safe, social setting
- In-home care through our Home Care program
- Transportation Services for Adult Day clients and medical appointments throughout central Nebraska through approved insurance providers.
Where We Are Today
At Custer Care, we understand that every individual has a story, a routine, and a unique set of needs. That’s why we’ve built a flexible care model designed to meet people where they are. Whether that means daily social interaction, a little extra help at home, or full-time assisted living support.
We are a locally owned and operated non-profit facility with a close-knit team who truly care and many of our staff have been with us for years. Our services are guided by compassion, connection, and a commitment to helping seniors live with dignity, independence, and joy.
